More Poetry :)

 Definitely not my best work....but I'm trying to let myself relax and be ok with poetry that kinda sucks 😅

The first poem is about Costa Rica and the overall serenity of that little slice of heaven. My ultimate goal was to try and add a lot of figurative language (I didn't get as much as I like, but oh well) Anyways I think this one is fairly decent, especially for writing it in a short amount of time.

The second one is about a rock...my LA teacher is responsible for this poem, making us select a rock and write a poem about it. I literally came up with the title like just no, its kind of comical and dumb LOL. Anyways, hopefully it isn't too boring...I'm not a big fan of it because it doesn't necessarily have a consistent meter and stanzas, but I'm not gonna worry about that.  After all, you guys are my friends. At least I hope 🤣 

Costa Rica

I awake to the sound of birds

Singing their gentle, jungle song

As crisp and sweet as the forest’s fruit

It is here that my spirit belongs.

And though I’m far from home

The ocean beckons me to stay 

Here is peace, here is balance

Can things forever stay this way?

I shake hands, exchange smiles

Their simple lives, richer than the wealthy

Humble, simple, and kind

Are more fulfilling, happy, and healthy

The sloth, the monkey, the bird

All call this green palace their home

If I could release all heavy burdens

Let myself be truly free to roam

Mr. Independent Stone

Assorted but simple,

Jagged but gentle

Hidden to all those passing

It glitters and sparkles,

A nature truly enchanting

It has no eyes, 

But witnesses it all

It has no ears, 

But will listen, if you want

Hiding in your garden, along a paved road

A friend or quiet pet it may be

When you take a second, appreciate it's presence

Anyone, can enjoy it’s company
